JACKSON, Tenn. - 6/15/2005 - Mack Bealim, from Livingston, Alabama, has signed to continue his college basketball for the Bulldogs of Union University. Bealim is transferring from Lawson State Community College in Birmingham and will enter Union this fall as a junior.
“Mack was one of the best players in a very good junior college league in Alabama last season,” states Union head coach Ralph Turner. “He may be the most versatile player on our team next season because he can play anywhere from point guard to power forward.”
Bealim, a 6-foot-5 guard/forward, averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists last season at Lawson State. He was named as the team MVP and was also the team captain. For his efforts last season, Bealim was named to the All-Region team, All-Region Tournament Team, and was an Alabama JUCO All-Star. Bealim played his high school basketball at Livingston High School. There, he was the MVP of the 2003 Alabama State Tournament as he led his team to the 4A State Title. Bealim was a McDonalds All-American nominee and was a two-time All-State performer in high school.
