JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/12/2005 - Purity Ogolla, Union University's junior setter, was named the TranSouth Conference Setter of the Week for the week ending October 9. This honor give her two straight setter of the week awards and three total for the season.
Ogolla, a 5-foot-9 junior setter from Nairobi, Kenya, averaged 14.71 assists per game, including 58 assists against TranSouth foe Freed-Hardeman. She added 45 more assists in a win over Trevecca Nazarene as Union recorded a 1-1 week. Ogolla leads Union with 813 assists and is also third on the team with 57 blocks and 40 service aces.
On the season, Union is 11-7 overall and 3-3 in the TranSouth Conference standings. Up next for Union will be a matchup with the TranSouth leader Martin Methodist at home on Thursday, October 13 at 7:00 pm.
