JACKSON, Tenn. - 10/12/2005 - Justin Reid, a senior at Jackson Christian School, has signed to run cross country for the defending TranSouth Conference Champion Union University Bulldogs. Reid is the first ever JCS runner to sign a college scholarship in cross country.
Reid has been a force for the JCS cross country program. He has finished first or near the top in every meet this year. Union head coach Gary Johnson calls Reid, “the best high school runner in West Tennessee.” Reed runs the 3-mile in times averaging 17 minutes.
JCS head coach Rick Faulk says of Reid, “He has been one of the ‘giants’ that we have built our young program around. When we look back at the beginning of JCS cross country years from now, Justin’s name will be brought up.”
Reid is the son of Norman and Tami Reid, both of Jackson, Tennessee.
