Union Baseball Wins 6-1

JACKSON, Tenn. - 2/4/2006 - The Union University Bulldog baseball followed an opening day split with another win on Saturday as they topped Union College (Ky.) 6-1. Union University improved to 2-1 on the season, while Union College fell to 1-2.

Former Millington High School standout, Zane Adams, started his first collegiate game as a freshman and took a no-hitter into the fifth inning. He earned the win by tossing six innings, allowing just two hits and one unearned run.

Union recorded eight hits on the day with seven different players recording a hit. The lone senior in the starting lineup, Jeffrey Jackson of Memphis, recorded two hits in three at bats with two RBI. Both of is hits were doubles.

Up next for Union will be a trip to Daytona Beach, Florida as the Bulldogs will play a three-game weekend series versus NAIA No. 3 ranked Embry-Riddle University.
