JACKSON, Tenn. - 3/3/2006 - The Union University Bulldogs bounced back after seeing their six-game winning streak snapped last Wednesday at UT Martin. On Friday at Fesmire Field, Union topped Spalding University (Ky.) 4-0 to move their record to 9-6 on the season.
Union was led by an outstanding pitching effort by Junior pitcher Garrett Pepper. Pepper tossed a complete game two-hitter while recording six strikeouts. He took a no-hitter into the fourth inning. Pepper also lead Union offensively as his two-out, two-RBI double in the eighth gave Union their third and fourth runs to secure the win. Union recorded only three hits in the game with Jud Powers and Jason Cooper recording one each.
