Jackson, Tenn. - 9/12/2001 - Union University has postponed all sporting events for this coming weekend. This decision stems from Tuesday’s national tragedy that has affected our entire nation, including different members of the Union community. No make-up dates have been set for these games.
The Union soccer team was to host the Casey Jones Classic this weekend with teams from Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee. With the limited open dates remaining on the schedule, this tournament will not be rescheduled.
Saturday’s women’s volleyball conference opener at Lee University will be rescheduled at a later date. The Lady Bulldogs contest with Union College of Kentucky, also scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled.
Updated schedules for each of the week’s postponements will be posted on Union’s website at www.uu.edu/athletics as soon as the new dates are announced.
