Bealim Named TranSouth Player of the Week

JACKSON, Tenn. - 12/14/2006 - Union University senior Mack Bealim has been named as the TranSouth Conference Co-Player of the Week for the Week.

Bealim, a 6-foot-5 guard from Livingston, Ala., missed a double-double by one rebound after scoring 19 points, with nine rebounds, five assists, and a steal in the Bulldogs 74-61 win over No. 13 Oklahoma Baptist. Bealim was 8-of-12 (67%) from the field, 1-of-1 from 3-point range, and hit 2-of-4 free throws.

Union is now 7-2 and has won five games in a row, with each of the five wins coming versus teams ranked in the current NAIA Top-25.

The Bulldogs have on game left before Christmas as they travel to Chicago for a game at Olivet Nazarene University on Monday, December 18. Both the Union men and women will resume play when they travel to Cumberland University for the TranSouth Conference season opener.
