NASHVILLE, Tenn. - 4/10/2007 - The defending TranSouth Champion Union Bulldogs fell short of a back-to-back bid as the team posted a third place finish in the 2007 TranSouth Men's Golf Tournament.
Union was second after the first round but fell to third in the final standings. Union post team totals of 314 on both days. Bethel College (Tenn.) won the event with two days of 306 scores. Cumberland University (Tenn.) posted a first round of 315 and a second day total of 310 to move into second place.
Union freshman Clay Mallard, a former Milan High School standout, posted a fourth place finish to lead Union. Mallard was named to the TranSouth All-Conference team for his efforts.
