• Coach’s Comments. Zach is fully healthy. He is our most complete player. Zach is an excellent defensive catcher and outfielder. Offensively, he drives in runs. Zach is a clutch player that leads our team.
  Union Career. 2004...hit .366 with 49 hits, 10 doubles, 2 triples, 3 homeruns, and 29 RBI...made just three errors in 134 chances as a catcher and back-up right fielder. 2005...hit .223 with one homerun and 12 RBI after missing the first half of the season with an injury...threw out 10-of-30 base runners from behind the plate.

• Coach’s Comments. Zach proved to be a valuable recruit as a freshman as his first was a stellar one. He split time last season at the catcher position, but was in the line up everday because of his potent bat. Will be everyday catcher in 2005 once back from injury. Zach is a great all around baseball player with all the tools.

">Zach is the "steal" of the recruiting class...simply our best baseball player in the fall...will share catching duties with Godwin, but will be in the lineup everyday at some position when not behind the plate.
