• Before Union: Clinger prepped at Cary Grove High School were she played soccer and tennis. In addition to her high school soccer career, Clinger also played league soccer with the FC United Soccer Club (2004-06), the Northwest United Soccer Club (2002-03), and the Cary Defenders Travel Club (1995-2001). She participated in numerous major tournaments and camps during her high school career. Off the field, Clinger was a member of the Cary High School honor roll. She was also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Spanish Club, and Chorus.
