Before Union: Garbo comes to Union from Letourneau University where he played two seasons of soccer. He prepped at Hillcrest School in Nigeria where he played soccer, basketball, and ran track and field. He was on the soccer championship team in 2003 and the also the basketball championship team in 2003. Garbo was named named MVP of his basketball team as a senior. He also earned Midfielder of the Year honors as a freshman in college. Garbo was the class president as a freshman and was the student body representative as a senior.
