Before Union: Berlin transferred to Union after playing two seasons of volleyball at the College of the Sequoias. She was named first team All-Conference as a sophomore and second team All-Conference as a freshman in college. In 2006, she averaged 3.21 kills per game and ranked 24th in blocks per game (1.2). Berlin prepped at Mt. Whitney High School where she played volleyball, soccer, and ran track.
