- Before Union: Fesmire played two sports at the University School of Jackson including baseball and basketball. He was a starter for USJ's baseball program for five seasons for Coach Brad Dyer. He was a member of USJ’s State Championship team in 2005, their runner-up teams in 2006 and 2007, and their semifinal appearance in 2008. Fesmire was one of the top players for USJ as both a pitcher and middle infielder. He was named All-State , All-District, and Jackson Sun All-West Tennessee as a sophomore. Fesmire added All-District and All-District Tournament as a Junior. He was selected to play in the TBCA Showcase and was twice named to the TBCA team. Fesmire represented USJ as their Wendy's High School Heisman athlete.
