Before Union: Bachman was a three-sport star at the Christian Academy of Louisville where she played soccer, basketball, and tennis. In soccer, she was named an Academic All-State performer all four seasons of high school. Bachman was also named All-Region, All-Tournament in the Male Bulldog Cup, and All-Tournament in the CAL Classic in both her junior and senior seasons. Off the field, Bachman was a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club. Backman's older sister, Kari, was a senior on Union's inaugural women's soccer season in 2005.
