Matt has successfully made the move from a everyday player to a pitcher during his sophomore...has proven to have one of the best arms on the team..last season as a junior, Matt let the team witih 17 appearances...was very consistant during the year as he posted a 2-1 record with a save...struckout 40 batters in just over 32 innings pitched.
Before Union: Prepped at Massac County HS where he played baseball and football...batted .517 with 7 HR, 62 runs, and 28 stolen bases...named All-Conference in both sports plus All-Southern Illinois in baseball...holds Massac County record for hits in a season (55) and runs scored in season (62)
As a sophomore, Glass became a bullpen guy and a spot starter after seeing limited time as an outfielder his freshman season…finished second on the team with a 3.60 ERA and a 1-0 record with 1 save in six appearances…great combination of speed and arm strength…stole four of five bases as a freshman …can pitch, play outfield, and pinch run…can make things happen offensively…prepped at Massac County HS where he played baseball and football…batted .517 with 7 HR, 62 runs, and 28 stolen bases…named All-Conference in both sports plus All-Southern Illinois in baseball…holds Massac County record for hits in a season (55) and runs scored in season (62)
