Before Union: Smith prepped at Marion (Ark.) High School where she was a cheerleader for four years. Smith was co-captain and captain during her career. She was also with the Arkansas Cheer Company for four years. She helped win the JamFest National Championship, Athletic National Championship, Arkansas State Championship and WSA National Championship. Smith was a member of the National Honor Society, was an honors graduate, and was the History Society's Historian.
