Returning senior who will start at first base and also will play some outfield…hit .281 in her first full season after an injury...her 1999 season was cut short due to an ankle injury but she still batted .302 in just 86 plate appearances...was named to the 1998 NCCAA MidEast Region All-Tournament team...prepped at Henry County High School where she played softball, soccer, and basketball...is a three-time All-District performer in softball...led her team to District Championships in both softball and soccer...in soccer was named District Most Valuable Player, second team All-State, All-Mid-State, and Overton Invitational MVP.

A returning Senior who will see substantial playing time in the outfield…holds record at Union for most games played in a career...in 2000 she hit .323 while also maintaining a 1.000 fielding percentage...possess a very strong throwing arm...ranks seventh in the Union record book for doubles in a season with eight...prepped at McLeansboro High School where she was a three-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball, and softball...was named Most Valuable Player in both 1996 and 1997 in softball...was named Black Diamond All-Conference twice...career batting average over .500 at MHS.

Returning junior pitcher and outfielder…last season, posted a .33 ERA and a 31-4 record…in 2000 she was named a NAIA All-American, TranSouth pitcher of the year, NCCAA player of the year, Region XI pitcher of the year and NFCA All-American…first team All-TranSouth Conference and MidSouth Region...was named MidSouth Region Pitcher of the Year...led the nation in wins with 33 and was second in strikeouts with 282...was a record setting pitcher at Herrin who helped lead the team to an Illinois State Runner-Up title in 1998...comes from the alma mater of Union All-American Lynde Capogreco...in her senior season at HHS she was named First Team All-Conference, All-South, and All-State Tournament...earned Most Valuable Player honors and was a member of the Super 60 All-Star Team in Chicago...was privileged to be one of 17 chosen to participate with the Spirit of Chicago Foundation where she traveled to Holland to play...in her senior season was 17-5 with a 1.06 ERA...in 151 innings pitched had 182 strikeouts...hit .315 with 11 RBI's.

Freshman from A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, TX where she played softball and basketball…will be the #2 pitcher for Union and will also play outfield for the Lady Bulldogs…

 


#12 Brandi Park

IF, JR, Checotah, OK
Crowder College

Transfer from Crowder College where she will play shortstop for the Lady Bulldogs…in 2000 she was named NJCAA All-Region…posted a .333 batting average while helping to leading her team to a top 10 finish in the NJCAA National Tournament…was selected to play with the NJCAA All Stars at the 2000 Canada Cup.

 


#20 Johnna Porter

IF, SO, Mountain Grove, MO
Crowder College

Transfers in from Crowder College…will play third base for Union…in 2000, she hit .429 while adding 7 homeruns and 37 RBI…was named NJCAA All-American…helped lead Crowder to a top 10 finish in the NJCAA national tournament.

Motlow State Community College

Transfer from Motlow State, TN…will be the catcher for the Lady Bulldogs …in 2000, she was named to the NJCAA All-Region team while posting a .358 batting average and 6 homeruns…let Motlow to the regional finals in 2000…holds Motlow record for RBI in a season with 69.
