Before Union: Hoffman played two seasons of softball at Iowa Central Community College before transferring to Union. While playing for the Iowa Central team that was ranked No. 12 in the nation, she was named first team All-Region and second team All-American. He hit 11 homeruns, droving in 48 RBI while batting .400 and posting an .800 slugging percentage. Hoffman was also an Academic All-Region. Hoffman prepped at Glidden-Ralston High School were she played softball, basketball, volleyball, and ran track. In softball, she was named team MVP in addition to numerous All-Conference and All-Tournament awards. Off the field, she was a member of the National Honor Society, Quill and Scroll, FFA President, and Yearbook Editor.
