2010 Lady Bulldog Softball Player Profile

Before Union: Saunders prepped at Cheatham County High School where she played four seasons of softball and volleyball. In softball, she was named District MVP, all-state, all-district and all-mid-State as a junior and a senior. Saunders added all-district honors as both a freshman and sophomore. As a senior, she hit .548 and eight home runs, with a .652 on-base percentage and a 1.105 slugging percentage. Saunders also posted a .988 fielding percentage at third base. She was selected as team captain in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Saunders helped lead her summer travel softball team to the 2007 ASA State Title, and three ASA National Tournament appearances. In volleyball, she was named all-district as a senior. Saunders was equally successful outside of athletics as she was Valedictorian and was on the National Honor Roll for four years. She was also a member of the Beta Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
