Lexington High School
April will called on for senior
leadership at the point guard position this year…she will be the
key to Union’s up tempo style of play…a defensive specialist on
the press...averaged 5.7 points and 5.0 steals per game in the 1999
NAIA Championship...an exciting player to watch, she averaged four
steals per game in the 1998 NAIA Championships therefore earning her
the Hustle Award...averaged 11.2 points and 5.8 rebounds during
tournament play...in 1998 was named to the TranSouth All-Newcomer
Team...redshirted her first season due to injury......prepped at
Lexington High School where she averaged 19.8 points, 8.5 rebounds,
and 6.0 assists per game...three time All-West Tennessee, All-State
performer, and was named Honorable Mention to the USA Today
team...led her team to the state finals at Lexington...finalist for
AAA Miss Basketball in the state of Tennessee. Career Highs: 19

sports-basketball, volleyball, and track...won the high jump at the

Gleason High School
One of only two returning players
that averaged 20 minutes or more for the Lady Bulldogs…TranSouth
second team All-Conference while finishing 5th in the
conference in three-point percentage…a great offensive player,
Alisha is a great shooter from anywhere on the floor out to 22
feet... a timeless worker year-round, her best is still ahead of
her...after red-shirting her first year due to injury, Lehmkuhl came
on strong...averaged 7.1 points per game in 1999...was second on the
team with 44 three-pointers...averaged 15.0 points per game at the
1999 NAIA Championship...comes from a very successful high school
program at Gleason......Lehmkuhl earned several honors in her high
school career including All-District, All-Region, District MVP,
Honorable Mention All-State, and the Sports Writer's All-State
team...averaged 15 points per game at Gleason while shooting 40
percent from the three-point arc. Career Highs: 26 points...6
rebounds...2 assists and 3 steals.

for the benefit of her teammates…led Union in rebounding in 2000
and also finished 10th in rebounding in the
conference...1999 TranSouth Newcomer of the Year...second on the
team in rebounding in 1998-1999 with6.4 rebounds per game...averaged
9.7 points to place her third in scoring...named Third Team All-Transouth
Conference...prepped at Bradford High School where she led the Lady
Red Devils to three consecutive state titles...played in the Class A
state championship game four years...only player in the history of
the TSSAA to be named the state tournament MVP three
times...All-West Tennessee four seasons...1997-98 Jackson Sun Player
of the Year...1997 TSSAA Miss Basketball and a finalist in
1998...also played softball for Bradford...cousin to former
All-American Lady Bulldog Michelle Street. Career Highs: 32

Coming off her second knee-injury
from last year…Mary Beth is a competitor who raises the standards
of her teammates simply by her great work ethic on the floor and in
the classroom…she has the mindset of a coach on the floor because
of her knowledge of the game…she has maintained a 4.0 through
college...prepped at the University School of Jackson where she was
a four-sport athlete...played volleyball, golf, softball and
basketball and earned numerous honors in each sport...finished
runner-up in the golf state tournament...named Best of the West in
basketball...District MVP in volleyball, softball and
basketball...region honors in all three sports...was All-State in
basketball and All-State Tournament as well...averaged in double
figures three seasons...16.8 points and 4.5 assists per game as a
senior. Career Highs: 8 points...5 rebounds...6 assists and 5

worked hard to improve her game...everyone loves MC, she is one of
the spiritual leader of the team...third on the team in 1998-1999 in
the three-point shooting...was highest in three-point field goal
percentage...played both tennis and basketball at Jonesboro High
School...won state tennis titles in 1993 and 1997...All-Conference
and All-State in tennis in 1995, 1996 and 1998...earned numerous
basketball honors including All-4A East Conference, Most Valuable
Player of 4A East, All-State, All-Star East selection, and the Jean
Davidson Award winner...averaged 10.5 points and 3.5 assists per
game at Jonesboro High...her brother Philip played baseball at
TranSouth opponent Lyon College. Career Highs: 16 points...6

injuries from other teammates…continues to improve daily and will
be a threat to opponents because she is a tall and quick post player…in
2000 she was name to the TranSouth Conference First Team…averaging
??? points and ?? rebounds per game…she started playing basketball
in high school...she has improved every year, but her best years are
ahead of her...she will be a big part of Union's future. Career
Highs: 21 points and 14 rebounds.

from Hannibal-LaGrange…as a freshman she averaged 13 points, 8
rebounds, and finished third in the NAIA in individual field goal
percentage at 59 percent…she is very athletic and intelligent and
will be a solid post defender with great rebounding skills that will
help both offensively and defensively.

Jessica played her high school ball
at Bradford where she averaged 21.6 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steal, and
5 assists per game…at Bradford, she earned numerous honors
including MVP All-District, MVP All-Region, and All-State…was a
vital part of the state championship teams in 1997, 1998, and 2000…named
Miss Basketball of Tennessee, MVP of State Tournament, and All-West
Tennessee.

Dyer County High School
Laura is a very hard worker who will
bring great quickness to the Lady Bulldog team…helped lead Dyer
County to a school record in wins, region championship and a #2
state ranking…earned many honors at Dyer County including
All-District, All-Region, All-State in 1999, and All-State in 2000…Laura
holds the Dyer County High School leading scoring record…she was a
four sport star at Dyer County in volleyball, cross-country, track,
and basketball.
