Coach’s Comments. Monica is an incredible attacker who not only hits with power, but is also smart with the ball. She is also a skilled server.
Union Career. 2005...played in 115 games, was second on the team with 483 kills and 66 service aces...named TranSouth All-Conference.

Before Union: Schirmer spent two seasons playing volleyball for Long Beach City College before coming to Union. She played high school volleyball as a freshman and sophomore at Jordan High School, then transferred to St. Anthony High School for her junior and senior seasons. While at St. Anthony, Schirmer was a two sport athlete including volleyball and basketball. In volleyball, she was named a first team All-League performer as a junior and senior, was named player of the week twice, and was name MVP as a senior. In basketball at St. Anthony, she help lead her team to the CIF Div. V AA Championship during her senior season in 2000.
