Come, Listen, and Learn: Sharing Our Stories

Kenneth Newman, Ed.D., Professor of Educational Leadership, Jackson

June 1, 2009 - Professional Development on the last day of school can be difficult, especially during a school year that included the death(at school) of the long-time principal, several months with an interim principal, and then the appointment of a permanent principal. This day, centered around a time of reflection for the faculty, provided a time for them to share their stories as teachers. They were invited to reflect on what inspired/motivated them to become teachers, to consider where they currently were as teachers, to think about their greatest successes as teachers, to think about what changes they had seen and what things about teaching have remained constant. Dr. Kenneth Newman was invited to lead the session - Come, Listen, and Learn: Sharing Our Stories (May, 2009)
