However, students can draft a long-term sketch of their English courses by consulting this chart, which reflects an exciting new overhaul of existing course offerings that better suits the strengths of English faculty and better meets the needs of students.
300 (Intro.)=New "Gateway" course for English majors on literary theory and research methods.
395 courses are special topic courses in the instructor’s particular research and teaching area.
450 (HEL)=History of the English Language. This course differs from English 421 History & Structure of the English Language in that it focuses on the history and philology alone.
