Rutledge Honorary History Club Sponsors Reformation Day Event The Rutledge Honorary History Club on October 31, 2007, sponsored a well-attended Reformation Day colloquium entitled “Modern Implications of the Reformation.” Drs. Terry Lindley and Keith Bates discussed contributions made by major Reformation figures and groups – Martin Luther, Ulrich Zwingli, John Calvin, and the Anabaptists – to the practice and theology of Christianity. These contributions included the priesthood of the believer, Scripture as the sole authority in matters of faith and doctrine (sola scriptura), a memorial view of the Lord’s Supper, and religious liberty. A lively question-and-answer session followed the two history professors’ presentations.
