Dr. Carls Receives 2008 Alumni Distinguished Faculty/Staff Award
Nov 7, 2008 - The Union University Alumni Association honored Dr. Stephen Carls, history department chair, with its Alumni Distinguished Faculty/Staff Award at the Homecoming chapel service on Friday, November 7, 2008. The Association presents the award annually to a faculty or staff member who has made significant contributions to his or her community, profession, and Union University. Dr. Carls has been on the faculty of Union University since 1983, and in Christian higher education as a full-time faculty member for close to 38 years. In addition, he has served as the faculty advisor to Union’s Delta-Psi Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta since 1983 and held the post of department chair since 1990.
