Lindley presents scholarly papers
Aug 1, 2000
This past academic year Dr. Lindley presented three scholarly papers. At the Ohio Valley History Conference in October, his paper was on "A Year of Confusion: 1967, the Southern Baptists, and the War in Vietnam." In March he presented "Southern Baptists and Vietnam: A Difference of Opinions" at the meeting of the West Tennessee Society. And in May, at the annual Rutledge Honorary History Club Awards Banquet, his topic was "Unknowable Tongues, Long Hair, and Rock ‘N’ Roll: the Southern Baptists Confront the Jesus Movement." The last of these will be published this fall in the Journal of Union’s Faculty Forum. Dr. Lindley also published two book reviews this past year in the spring issue of the Baptist History and Heritage on Erasmus, the Anabaptists, and the Great Commission by Abraham Friesen and An American Bible: A History of the Good Book in the United States, 1777-1880 by Paul Gutjahr.
