Phi Alpha Theta Celebrates End of Fall Semester with French Dinner
Dec 7, 2012
The Delta-Psi Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society celebrated the end of the fall semester by hosting a formal French Christmas dinner at the home of Dr. Stephen Carls on December 7, 2012. Thirty people participated in the event, which included a several-course meal, recognition of graduating history major Cale Little, and a musical program by flautist Patricia Dawson.
As for the meal, it consisted of four courses. The first course was an asparagus, avocado, and smoked salmon salad. For the main course, guests ate roasted basil pork medallions, risotto, and stewed cherry tomatoes. Plates containing several cheeses, fresh pecans, and red grapes followed. For dessert, attendees had a choice of four items, including a lemon yule log cake (bûche de noël), a strawberry trifle (charlotte aux fraises), a marquise au chocolat cake (an Alsatian family variation on Italian tiramisu), and créme brûlée. The evening finished with tea and coffee.
