History major Cameron Armstrong presented a paper at the Fifth Annual Union University Scholarship Symposium on May 9, 2008. Cameron’s paper was entitled “Prayer, Partnership, and Persecution: Southern Baptist Missions Behind the Iron Curtain, 1950-60.” The communist countries of Yugoslavia, Hungary, and Romania in the 1950s were the focus of his attention. Much of his paper was based on documents he found at the Southern Baptist Historical Library and Archives in Nashville, Tennessee. Both Union faculty and students attended this event.
