The Residence Life Staff is eagerly awaiting your arrival this fall! We want you to be "in the know" about what to pack as you prepare to move into your "home-away-from-home!" We strongly encourage you to write or call your future roommates to coordinate who will bring certain large items (microwave, TV, etc.) to ensure that you do not have 4 or 5 of everything!!! Also, when you arrive to move in, please bring you Medical Insurance/HMO card.

We provide:
Private bedroom with:

• standard single bed with a small separate mattress extension (bring regular twin sheets).
• desk with drawer space and bookshelves
• 4' closet
• chest-of-drawers
• overhead storage space
• built-in voice-mail
• central heat and air-conditioning (controlled in each apartment)
• venetian blinds for window (6'w x 4'h for most windows except in McAfee buildings K & L)

Furnished living room with:

• love-seat/couch and matching chair(s)
• coffee table
• 2 end tables/1 lamp
• carpet (in most apartments)
• cable service (you bring the coaxial cable)
• Kitchen apartments (which house 4 students) have a refrigerator, stove, shelf-space, cabinet-space and dining table with 2 chairs.  **The number of apts. with kitchens are limited! They are assigned solely by the date you submit your $100 housing deposit! **
• Non-kitchen apartments (which house 5 students) have room for 5 times the fun! (You may bring a microwave and small refrigerator to make it like a kitchen too!)
• None of the furniture may be taken out of the apartment at any time! City fire codes demand easy entrance/exit to the apartment, therefore, bringing furniture from home is limited to one more living room chair or an entertainment center.

Bathroom with:

• tub/shower; (shower curtain will be provided)
• sink with cabinet space below sink; mirror
• toilet
• towel rods
• extra vanity provided in non-kitchen rooms

You provide:

• Telephone and phone cord.
• All bed accessories: bedspread/comforter (bunk bed ones work best since 3 of the 4 corners of the bed are against a wall or desk); mattress cover; sheets (twin, extra long); dust ruffle (beds are 17" off the floor); blanket; pillow; towels.
• Miscellaneous supplies: broom/mop; vacuum; wastebaskets; toilet paper; laundry supplies; alarm clock; cups; utensils; kitchen supplies.

Optional Items to bring:

• Computer... TV & coaxial cable... Stereo...
• Curtains (hung with tension rods)...Mirror… Iron/Ironing board...
• Decorations to personalize your apt. (Use only small nails or white putty)
• Bicycle... (Please bring your own lock to secure it on the bike rack inside the Residence Complex. It may not be stored in your apt.)
• Car...(Bring current proof of insurance and driver's license...Register it in Office of Safety and Security during registration)
• Microwave…pop-up toaster or toaster oven
• FYI - Union University's property insurance will not cover students' personal property so please check your Homeowner's Insurance or consider obtaining renter's insurance.
