Ginny Hatch is a Registered Dietitian/Food Service-Nutrition Director for the Humboldt City School System. She was born and raised in Jackson, TN where she currently resides with her husband, Tim, and daughter, Sophie. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Family and Consumer Science with a concentration in Dietetics from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She also completed the Dietetic Internship Program in 2003 from UT Martin.
In her current role as Food Service Director she oversees four school cafeterias. This includes the staffing, ordering, creation of menus (following the USDA guidelines), conducting the bidding process, working closely with vendors, etc. In 2006, she wrote the grant for the Coordinated School Health Program and now oversees the department. She is the Registered Dietitian for the school system which involves teaching nutrition classes to students, counseling parents and students on dietary needs, and working with the school nurse to accommodate special diets. She wrote the Wellness Policy for the school system in 2006 which has helped to improve the overall wellness of the students and staff.
Prior to her current role, she was a Registered Dietitian for the Tennessee Kidney Clinic. She worked with renal patients on their diets and supplements. She spent close to a year working in the hospital setting during her dietetic internship where she worked with patients ranging from birth to elderly. Ginny is a certified member of the School Nutrition Association, member of the West Tennessee Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, serves on the State of Tennessee School Nutrition Association Board and is the former President of the Jackson Cotillion Club.
In her spare time, she enjoys most any type of exercise. She loves attending the classes at Gold’s Gym in Jackson. She loves boating and virtually any activity on the water. Most of her time is spent with her friends, family, and keeping up with a one year old. Life is Good!!
