![]() The worship of God through Jesus Christ our Lord is the highest privilege granted to the church. The church’s worship must be God-centered, energized by the Holy Spirit. The Bible makes clear that worship is not primarily for people, but for God, as we recognize His glory and exalt His name. In recent years the church has begun to rediscover the missing jewel of worship, which is primarily rooted in Jesus Christ who revealed God the Father to us as our loving and compassionate Creator and Redeemer. We invite you to join us this summer as we focus on the renewal of worship in our churches. We are blessed to be led by Rick White, Frank Pollard, Greg and Sheila McFadden, Paul Jackson, and the Praise Team from First Baptist, Franklin. We hope you join us for this special week on the campus of Union University.

![]() What is worship? What do you do in worship? How do you worship? What motivates a congregation to change its style of worship? Does the pastor have the authority to change the church’s worship style? These are important questions and they deserve answers. Today’s culture is bringing about some radical changes in our traditional ways of worship. Both leaders and worshipers face difficult choices. A pastor should be prepared and must realize that his calling demands that he lead the sheep, feed the sheep, and protect the sheep (Acts 20:28-30). To do so, he must have a clear vision of where he is leading his flock. This year’s Union University Pastors’ School is designed to help you better understand your role as a worship leader. We will attempt to provide you with the essential tools required to lead your flock. I invite you to join us on campus as we worship and grow together. I’m looking forward to seeing you!
