Union University, an institution affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention which traces its origin to 1823, seeks applications for the following faculty positions. Union University is a liberal arts-based university with an enrollment of over 2,900 students. Graduate programs are offered in education, business administration, nursing and intercultural studies.

Successful candidates must be professing Christians who are active members of an evangelical Christian church; should articulate a Christian worldview in their academic teaching and discipline; and be able to fully support Union University’s vision, mission, and core values.

School of Christian Studies

Dean of the School of Christian Studies and Vice President for Church Relations

Union University seeks to fill the position of Dean of the School of Christian Studies and Vice President for Church Relations no later than Fall 2006. This individual will provide leadership for the faculty and undergraduate programs in the School of Christian Studies at Union University.

Minimum Qualifications: Must have earned doctorate (PhD, ThD, EdD), with minimum five years teaching experience; and must be an active member of a Baptist congregation, with local church leadership and ministry experience preferred.

Successful candidates should articulate a Christian worldview in their academic teaching, be committed to liberal-arts-based Christian higher education, and be able to fully support Union’s vision, mission, core values and Statement of Faith. Educational Leadership

Union University’s College of Education invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in Educational Leadership beginning in fall 2005. The individual in this position is responsible for teaching in the doctoral program in Educational Leadership with the following qualifications: a doctorate in Educational Leadership, public school administrative experience, an active research/scholarly agenda of publications and presentations, and a strong record of excellence in teaching.

McAfee School of Business Administration

Management

The McAfee School of Business Administration at Union University seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in management. Faculty members are expected to teach 24 credit hours per year, assume faculty duties of advising students, serve on institutional committees, and pursue a program of scholarship. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in management (ABD acceptable), and successful teaching experience at the college or university level is required.

The position is available beginning the Fall 2005 academic year, and includes a competitive salary and benefit package. School of Nursing

Union University seeks to fill the following position beginning Fall 2005:

Assistant or Associate Professor of Nursing, in the School of Nursing – Germantown campus. This is a full-time/nine-month contract, tenure-track position. Primary responsibilities include teaching adult health in the undergraduate RN-BSN and Accelerated program and/or teaching nursing content in the areas of administration or clinical nurse specialist in the MSN program. Secondary responsibilities include the establishment of a clinical practice in the area of your nursing specialty.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Nursing, with a doctorate preferred; eligible for state licensure in Tennessee; appropriate scholarship and/or teaching experience; and a personal commitment to the mission and core values of the profession of Nursing and of Union University.
