Union University seeks a qualified individual for the position of Director of MSW/BSW Field Education for its Germantown campus.

This position is responsible for the administration of the BSW/MSW Field Education Program in Germantown.
· Duties to administer the field work program for all students include:
o Develop field education sites in the local area, statewide and international settings as reflected by the program strategy, and establish positive relationships with agency sites and field instructors.
o Ensure that the School of Social Work has a contract with each field placement agency.
o Ensure the accuracy of current information on affiliated field agencies, field instructors and other pertinent data.
o Ensure that all student information and field processes are completed and documented in the database.
o Edit and update the Field Manuel annually (in tandem with field personnel at other campuses) and ensure that students, field instructors and faculty have access to copies
o Oversee the relationships between each student, his or her field instructor, the seminar instructor/field liaison and provide guidance/support when conflict occurs.
o Clarify field education policies and procedures for students, field instructors and faculty.
o Provide training and orientation to field instructors each year on the expectations of the field program, the supervision of students, and interpret the School of Social Work’s educational standards and policies to both field agencies and students.
o Evaluate the effectiveness of the BSW/MSW Field Education Program on an annual basis.
o Monitor and evaluate agencies and field instructors in respect to their capacity to facilitate student learning.
o Complete an annual summary report of student field work evaluation scores for each year.
o Participate in meetings of the SSW Field Education Committee.
o Present the Field Education Program at information meetings for prospective students and other settings as needed.
· Duties to secure field instruction sites for all BSW/MSW students include:
o Assess professional experience and interest of social work students and their readiness for field via a personal interview.
o Provide students with counsel on how to reach their professional goals and meet the educational criteria of the BSW/MSW Program.
o Provide students with referrals to appropriate agencies.
o Follow up with students and confirm/approve the field placements.
o Ensure that students have completed all required paperwork in a timely manner
o Ensure that students’ files are up to date.
o Provide new students with a Field Orientation presentation on the process, expectations and student responsibilities in field education.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in social work in a CSWE-accredited program and two years of post-master’s social work practice experience is required. Demonstrated administrative experience and skills in developing positive relationships with community agencies and professional colleagues, as well as the ability to relate to students, is also required.
