"Union University couldn't have chosen a more deserving person," said Kimberly Thornbury, dean of students at Union. "Everybody loves Phyllis not only because of her incredibly warm personality, but the excellence she shows in her work. She is forever part of the fabric of Union University."

A Union employee for the last eighteen years, Davenport is responsible for handling the numerous details for Union and local outside organizations who wish to use Union's facilities.

According to Thornbury, three of Davenport's top qualities include her strong commitment to Christ, her incredible reputation with internal and external customers and her passion for Union students. Davenport was awarded the honor during a special Awards Day chapel Monday, May 8.
