JACKSON, Tenn. – April 17, 2006 – Studio potter and ceramics instructor Kristen Kieffer will lead a ceramics workshop April 24-25 at Union University.
Kieffer specializes in ornamental functional ceramics. She is a ceramics instructor at the Worcester Center for Crafts in Worcester, Mass., and a studio potter and charter member of the Fire Works Clay Studios, also in Worcester.
She is earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in ceramics from Ohio University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in ceramics from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and Ohio University. Kieffer exhibits her work internationally, and her work has been published in several books and periodicals.
The ceramics workshop will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on April 24 and from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on April 25. A slide presentation will follow the April 25 workshop, with a reception at 5 p.m.
The Union University Potter’s Guild and the Union art department are sponsoring the event, which is free and open to the public.

Due to inclement weather, all Union campuses will be closed on Friday, March 6, with all classes canceled.
The wellness center will open at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., and the aquatic center will be open from 1-3 p.m.
Friday's Preview Day has been canceled.
Brewer Dining Hall will be open from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lex will be closed. No breakfast will be served.
