‘Measure for Measure’ opens March 12

JACKSON, Tenn.March 11, 2009 – The Union Players will present the William Shakespeare play “Measure for Measure” March 12-15 in the W.D. Powell Theatre on Union University’s campus.

“Measure for Measure” follows the story of Angelo, the deputy empowered by the Duke of Vienna who decided to take time wandering disguised as a friar to see the moral state of his city. Seeing the demise of how far his city has fallen, the Duke devises a plan to root out the evil present in Vienna.

Show times are 8 p.m. March 12-14, with a special 11:30 p.m. show on March 13 and a 2:30 p.m. matinee on March 15. Tickets are $7 for general admission, or $3 for students and Union personnel.

The W.D. Powell Theatre is located in the Penick Academic Complex, next to the G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel.
