‘Zombies from the Beyond’ opens Nov. 12

JACKSON, Tenn.Nov. 9, 2009 – The Union University Players will present James Valcq’s play “Zombies from the Beyond,” beginning Nov. 12, at the university’s W.D. Powell Theatre.

A comedy, “Zombies from the Beyond” is about a group of scientists in the 1950s who witness a spaceship arrive, and chaos ensues when they discover that it houses zombies who have come to kidnap all the men on earth.

Union students with key roles in the play include Alex Evans, David Conway, Scott McSwain, Abigail Ebensberger, Tiffany Wade, Chad Hoy, Gillian Frank and Shannon Gardner. Union theater professor David Burke will direct the production.

“Zombies from the Beyond” will show at 8 p.m. Nov. 12-14 and Nov. 16-17, with a special 11:30 p.m. showing Nov. 13 and a 2:30 p.m. matinee Nov. 15. Tickets are $8 for general admission and $3 for students. All tickets for the 11:30 p.m. showing Nov. 13 are $3.
