Dockery discusses GCR Task Force report in podcast interview

JACKSON, Tenn.March 19, 2010 – JACKSON, Tenn. — Union University President David S. Dockery talks about the initial progress report of the Great Commission Resurgence Task Force in a new podcast interview with Doug Baker, executive editor of the Baptist Messenger of Oklahoma.

Dockery, part of the 23-member GCR Task Force charged with studying the Southern Baptist Convention and proposing changes to streamline the denomination’s work, has been instrumental in helping to move the SBC toward consensus and renewal. He and Timothy George co-wrote a booklet, “Building Bridges,” that was distributed at the SBC annual meeting in 2007. Dockery also wrote “Southern Baptist Consensus and Renewal” and edited “Southern Baptist Identity: An Evangelical Denomination Faces the Future.”

Union University Announcement for March 6

Due to inclement weather, all Union campuses will be closed on Friday, March 6, with all classes canceled.

The wellness center will open at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., and the aquatic center will be open from 1-3 p.m.

Friday's Preview Day has been canceled.

Brewer Dining Hall will be open from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lex will be closed. No breakfast will be served.
