
JACKSON, Tenn. – March 21, 2011– Sarah Chan took control of the game from the beginning, and didn’t let go.
Union University’s senior center scored the first six points of the game – ending with a game-high 32 points overall – to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 58-40 win over Shawnee State (Ohio) in the NAIA semifinals March 21 at Jackson’s Oman Arena.
Chan connected on 14-of-19 from the field and also grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.
The win puts the Lady Bulldogs (35-1 on the season) in their third straight NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship title game, and gives Union a chance for its third straight national title.
Union will face Azusa Pacific University at 7 p.m. March 21 in a rematch of last year’s championship game, which Union won 73-65.
Tickets for the game will be available at the Oman Arena gate. The game will be televised live on CBS College Sports.
