HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – May 30, 2013 – Union University Hendersonville will host a Common Core workshop June 12-13 that will address key differences between the Common Core Standards and State Standards for schools in elementary math and English language arts.
The workshop will also cover implementation planning, instructional strategies and performance tasks. Those attending will receive examples of lesson plans, tasks and formative assessment strategies. They will engage in hands-on learning activities to develop a deeper understanding of Common Core.
Frances Gary and Karen Jarratt, Common Core coaches for Tennessee, will be the presenters.
The workshop is free of charge for Tennessee Educators, with continental breakfast and lunch provided. Registration deadline is June 7.
