JACKSON, Tenn.Aug. 30, 2013 – Enrollment at Union University for the fall semester is a record-high 4,288 students – the 16th straight year for an enrollment increase at the university.

“We rejoice that Union University has been blessed in an extraordinary way with 16 consecutive years of enrollment increases,” Union President David S. Dockery said. “We are grateful to God for each and every student that has chosen to attend Union University and we wish the best for them in their educational pursuits.”

Undergraduate enrollment at Union is 3,028, the third straight year for that figure to surpass 3,000. Graduate enrollment is 1,260, an all-time high. This year’s total enrollment is an increase of 26 students from last year.

The latest enrollment figures show a 117 percent increase over the 1,972 students enrolled in the fall of 1996, when Dockery began his tenure.

Dockery congratulated Union’s enrollment services team on its efforts.

“The strong enrollment markers are a strong affirmation of the outstanding faculty and staff who provide the distinctive educational context for both undergraduate and graduate students at Union University,” he said.
