Union music professor named Teacher of the Year

JACKSON, Tenn.Oct. 24, 2002 – Union University music professor Terry McRoberts was recently named 2002 Teacher of the Year by the Tennessee Music Teachers Association (TMTA).

The award is given based upon educational preparation, reputation as an effective teacher, participation in the TMTA and other professional organizations and service to the community and state as a musician and teacher.

McRoberts is currently the president-elect of TMTA, previously holding positions as newsletter editor, West Tennessee Representative to the Executive Board and state convention co-chair. He also teaches piano and other related courses and is coordinator of the keyboard area, concerts and recitals at Union.

Union University Announcement for March 6

Due to inclement weather, all Union campuses will be closed on Friday, March 6, with all classes canceled.

The wellness center will open at 10 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., and the aquatic center will be open from 1-3 p.m.

Friday's Preview Day has been canceled.

Brewer Dining Hall will be open from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lex will be closed. No breakfast will be served.
