JACKSON, Tenn. – April 14, 2005– Poet and novelist Judson Mitcham will be at Union University April 19 for a poetry reading and book signing.
Mitcham is the author of “This April Day” and “Somewhere in Ecclesiastes,” a collection of poems that won the Devins Award. His novel “The Sweet Everlasting” won the Townsend Prize and was a finalist for the Southern Book Critics Award.
His work has appeared in many literary journals, including “The Georgia Review,” “Poetry” and “Harper’s.”
Mitcham is a retired psychology professor from Fort Valley State University and now teaches creative writing at Emory University and Mercer University.
The poetry reading will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Harvey Auditorium in the Student Union Building on the Union University campus. A book signing will follow. The event is free and open to the public.
