GrADUAtion Parking Guidelines

 

The areas for parking are designated below:

 

1. Jennings Hall lot will be reserved for handicapped parking only.

2. The parking lot to the north of Jennings Hall is available for parking with the exception of areas with equipment or other construction items.

3. Taylor Circle near the Pleasant Plains Road entrance should be reserved for handicapped parking.

4. The grass field labeled #4 is available.  The grass has a gravel base and has sections of the curb removed to access the field.  This area is designed as an area for future parking.

5. Both Penick lots are available.

6. The Fesmire Field House lot is available.

7. The paved lots at White Hall are available.

8. Hammons Hall is available for parking.

9. The Blasingame Academic Complex is available for parking.

 

The areas that are not available for parking are designated below:

 

1. The grass area to the east of White Hall.

2. The grass area to the west of Jennings Hall.

3. The Intramural field adjacent to the Welcome House

4. The paved area east of White Hall near the west Penick lot which                 serves as a connecting drive to White Hall. 

5. Dement Drive must be kept clear for emergency vehicles. This is not          optional.  In the event of an emergency near the graduation site,              ambulances and fire trucks must be able to get through. 

 

Additional information:

 

Please understand that there will be no admittance to the construction site.  Those persons wishing to come and look at the new construction should walk to the fenced area near the sidewalk.  Due to OSHA requirements and liability concerns, we must restrict access to that location.

In the event that overflow capacity exceeds the parking available in the above areas, security officers will use the old intramural field (near the bypass) for overflow parking. 

 

Union University Safety and Security personnel will be directing traffic into specific parking areas and assisting visitors to the graduation site.
