Welcome
Union University is a private, four-year liberal arts university, founded in 1823, and affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention. As an institution that is Baptist by tradition and evangelical by conviction, Union University has a heritage of academic excellence and is well known for providing a qualitatively distinctive Christian education.
The School of Nursing began in the early 1960’s and prides itself on providing an excellent academic foundation in preparing undergraduate and graduate nursing students to serve the Lord according to their specialty of interest. The university is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) while the School of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) with specialty accreditation for the nurse anesthesia track by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).
The purpose of the School of Nursing is to prepare competent professional nurses who provide caring therapeutic interventions to meet the health needs of culturally diverse persons. This is accomplished through enrollment in one of the 18 different educational tracks in our BSN, MSN, or Post-Master’s DNP program. The BSN Program offerings include the Traditional BSN, LPN-BSN, Accelerated BSN, and RN-BSN. The MSN Program offerings include an MSN in Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, Family Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, or Adult Nurse Practitioner, and Nurse Anesthesia with Post-Master Certificates available in Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, Family Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and Adult Nurse Practitioner. The post-master’s DNP Program offerings include Executive Leadership, Nurse Anesthesia, and Nurse Practitioner.
Come join us! The nursing faculty seeks to serve you as a group of dedicated, caring professional nursing educators who have a steadfast commitment to preparing Godly nursing leaders for the future. We applaud your decision to become a professional nurse and look forward to the opportunity to build a lasting relationship with you.
