Grade Level:  Grades 9 – 12 / Ages 14 – 22 (Moderate to Severe MR)
Duration:  One Week
Scaffolding: Scaffolding Activity
The teacher will lead these activities as students are developing skills.  Each student will have basic click and drag computer knowledge as well as color and number knowledge.  The teacher or teacher assistant will be available before activities to help the student(s) who require assistance.

Objectives:
TLW recognize different coins.
TLW distinguish between the different values of coins.
TLW find the sum of money up to $10.00.

PROBLEM:               You only have a $10.00 bill and you walk into the grocery store.  You must decide if you have enough money to purchase all the items on your list.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES:

Activity 1: Identify money  (Knowledge)

Activity 2  Match the coin with its number value.  (Comprehension)

 

 

Activity 3  Use the coins to purchase items.  (Application)

Activity 4  Add the coins together and find their total value. (online test) (Analysis)

Activity 6  Count the coins to find their sum.  (Evaluation)
