Problem: 
Halloween is only two weeks away.  Your parents think you are too little to go trick-or-treating!  To show them you are old enough complete the following activities about Halloween.  Be sure you follow the directions so your parents will take you trick-or-treating!  GOOD LUCK!!!!


Activity 1

Do you know these Halloween safety rules?

Safety Sentence Completion: Click on the link below.  Complete the sentences using the words in the word bank.  Click and drag the word to the correct blank.  When you are finished, print the page.  (Remember: File – Print – OK) (knowledge, comprehension, application)

Activity 2

Which candy is safe to eat?  Only graph the safe candy!

Candy Graph: First, follow the link below and print the candy.  Check your candy closely!  Get rid of any opened candy.

Then, correct the candy graph by graphing each safe piece of candy.  The graph shows you only have one piece each.  Print the page when you are done.  (Remember: File – Print – OK)  (comprehension, application)

Activity 3

 Do you know which are Halloween traditions?

 Holiday Venn Diagram: Click the link below and print the Venn diagram and the traditions.  (Remember: File – Print – OK)  Cut out the holiday facts and sort them using the Venn diagram.  Use your glue stick!  (comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis)

Activity 4

You will see lots of pumpkins but don’t be scared! 

 Story Sequencing:

a.    Click the link below to read the story about pumpkins.  When you finish the story, click on the back button and do part b below.

  b.    Click on the link below and print out the page.  (Remember: File – Print – OK)  Color  and cut out the squares.  Next, sequence the life cycle of the pumpkin on construction paper.  After you print, click the back button.  (analysis, synthesis)

The following activities may be done when you have completed the assignments above.  You may chose any activity.  You may play the same activity as many times as you like.
 

1.  Pumpkin Patch Sort:  Sort the pumpkins in the patch by clicking and dragging them.  Look at color, shape, and face as you sort.

2.  Virtual Pumpkin Carving: Carve your own pumpkin.  Click ‘START’ to begin.  Carve your pumpkin and then click the candle flame to light it.  To change your pumpkin click ‘X-CLEAR ALL’.  When you are finished click ‘DONE’.  If you would like a copy click ‘PRINT’.
