A Walk through Theatre History

High School Theatre Arts Students

Objectives:
Assigned a section of theatre history, student groups will research and gain a clear understanding of all assigned terms.  The students will then design a PowerPoint presentation to present learned material to the class.  Groups will also create a neat, easy to follow notes worksheet for fellow classmates.

The Problem:

You have just been hired to be the manager of a theatre in Paris.  The upcoming play is from a period in history that you know little about.  Someone has to train the staff at the theatre on this time period.  You are to complete this learning web to brush up on your knowledge about your assigned period in theatre history.
 

Materials Needed:
One computer per group, textbook, internet access, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.

Duration:
This learning web will take 3 90 minute class periods to complete.

Instructions:
You have been broken down in to groups and assigned a period of theatre history.  You have had a day in class to organize your groups and go though the textbook to get a general idea of important events that occurred during your assigned time period.  Follow the link below to your assigned section for further instructions.
