Mailbox Activites 

 

 Mailbox 1

 

You are going to write a friendly letter to Luke using Microsoft Word. Find and  paste his address within the letter. You can find his information on his website by clicking on Mailbox 1. Print your letter and turn it in to be mailed.( Comprehension, Application, Synthesis)

Click on the book link and read, Grow your own Gargoyle by Valerie Hardin. Then click on the mailbox to complete the activity. (Knowledge, Comprehension, Analysis, Evaluation)

 

 Mailbox 3

 

Pick up your weight kit from the teacher. As you weigh the  ten boxes provided you will record it on an Excel Spreadsheet by clicking on mailbox three. You will weigh it in ounces first.  Then using the conversion table in your weight kit you will convert the ounces to grams. Next you will calculate the cost of postage (Count the number of Ounces by Fives). The headings on your Excel Spreadsheet will be:

Box Number: in cell (A1)

Box Number: 1-10  in cells(A2-A11)

Ounces: in cell(B1)

Grams: in cell (C1)

Cost of Postage (5 Cents per ounce): in cell (D1)

example: 14 Ounces =IIII IIII IIII

So count by fives: 5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55,60,65,  70
