Problem: Now that you are a third grader, you should be able to choose your own clothing. However, you need to know what the weather is going to be for that day. How are you going to predict the weather if you haven't been trained to be a good meteorologist (weather forecaster)? (knowledge, comprehension)
|
| Activity 1:
Let's keep up with the temperature for five days.
In your science journal, record the day and the temperature by looking at the thermometer outside
the window. We will graph these temperatures in Activity 4.
(application, analysis,
synthesis)

![]() Activity 2: A meteorologist must know weather terms in order to predict the weather. The meteorologist also uses several tools and instruments. Study the list of weather terms at the beginning of each link. When you think you are weather-wise, try the Quiz link! (knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, evaluation)

Activity 3: Now that we are familiar with weather vocabulary, tools, and instruments, we are going to predict the weather for several different kinds of days.
Your group will scroll down and click on your link. Your group will also need to click on the PowerPoint Presentation link and follow the two sets of directions. Then your group will insert your picture into the class's PowerPoint presentation titled "Whether the Weather". (knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, evaluation)
When you have five days of temperatures recorded, you will click on the Graph link to create a bar graph in Excel. (knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, evaluation)
